GRP
Geothermal Pipes

Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Geothermal Pipes being produced by Superlit are providing a unique solution to a long lasting problem of corrosion related durability issues in geothermal pipes. Standard GRP pipes can operate up to 45°C where Superlit GRP Geothermal Pipes can be used in pressure applications up to 90°C of fluid.
Based on the temperature of the fluid in the pipeline two types of GRP Geothermal Pipes and fittings are offered. For fluids with a temperature below 45°C Superlit standard GRP pipes and fittings covering all standard diameter, pressure and stiffness classes could be employed with easy slip on coupling system.
The advantages of
GRP Geothermal Pipes
In pressure applications with a fluid flow above 45°C the specially designed Superlit GRP Pipes needs to be employed. These pipes are resistant up to 10 bars of pressure for fluid flow under 90°C. The Superlit GRP Geothermal Pipes can either be connected by hand lamination at site or by chemical adhesives to ensure a leakfree pipeline throughout its design life. The pipes are resistant to biaxial loading due to its restrained nature therefore not requiring any concrete thrust blocks. Based on the requirements the pipes can be pre-insulated to minimize any thermal losses in the pipeline.
Our GRP pipes are designed for a minimum of 50 years of service life based on international standards and require no maintenance and running costs.
- Corrosion free solution due to non metallic nature.
- Resistance to a wide range of pH and chemicals during service life.
- It does not require cathodic protection
- It does not require inner and outer coating.
SUPERLIT GRP growing gutters have perfectly smooth channels improving water flow in the channel and avoid puddles inside the channel. The smoothness of the surfaces stay the same throughout the service life of the product.
- It has approximately 1/4 the weight of steel pipes, approximately 1/5 of ductile pipes, and approximately 1/10 of concrete pipes.
- Requires no special equipment for handling and mounting. Being lightweight means easy installation, even for longer pipe lengths.
Standard SUPERLIT GRP Pipes have a flexible connection method and is leakproof throughout the service life thanks to a full face coupling and elastomeric seals. SUPERLIT GRP Geothermal Pipes are connected by either lamination or chemical adhesive to create a fully restrained connection.
